My name is Sara Poplawski. I am a wife, mother of 2 amazing little girls, as well as a special education teacher. I grew up and currently live in a western suburb of Chicago.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I was teaching preschool to 40 Spanish speaking children ages 3-5 when I earned my masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction. In this setting I dealt with the language barrier, however, I learned that no matter what language you speak, everyone speaks respect.
Then I explored an opportunity to teach in a charter school on the south side of Chicago, where I had to quickly learn how to juggle behaviors, social emotional needs, absent families, and stressed students. This is when I earned my special education degree
I continue to teach special education and use what I learned in these diverse environments to support students and families of all shapes and sizes.
